CAMPAIGN

* Kathy Cosco has joined U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin’s campaign team, the West Virginia Democrat announced. Cosco is communications director for the state Department of Environmental Protection. A prepared statement issued by Manchin’s campaign said Cosco has taken a leave of absence from the agency to serve on the campaign.

HEALTH CARE

* Michael Herald has joined Heartland of Charleston as administrator of the 184-bed skilled nursing facility. He was administrator at the Dunbar Care and Rehab Center. Herald has a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from the West Virginia University Institute of Technology and master’s degrees from West Virginia University and Marshall University.

LAW

* Shantel Walker has joined Bowles Rice McDavid Graff Love as an associate in the firm’s Charleston office. She has experience representing employers and businesses in employment, workers’ compensation and civil litigation matters and will concentrate her practice in those areas. Walker was in private practice in North Carolina. She is a 2007 graduate of the Wake Forest School of Law.
