Two People Charged with Murder in the Death of War Mayor – WVNS

Two people face murder charges in the death of a southern West Virginia mayor.
    
War Mayor Tom Hatcher was found dead in his home Monday. The cause of death hasn’t been released.
    
McDowell County Sheriff’s Deputy Ron Blevins says Hatcher’s sister-in-law and her brother were arrested late Thursday night.
    
Blevins tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraph that Rebecca Lynn Hatcher of War and Earl Click of Grundy, Va., are each charged with first-degree murder.
    
Click is being held in the Southwest Regional Jail system and will be extradited to McDowell County.
    
Police initially said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the mayor’s death. Blevins says incorrect information was intentionally released to news media in the hope that someone would come forward with information.
    
He said he couldn’t comment on a motive.
