SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Senator Claire McCaskill
(D-Missouri) is making the rounds across the Show-Me State next week, including
a stop in Springfield.
The Democrat’s staff announced
she’ll speak at a Springfield Labor Day Picnic Monday morning, at Fassnight Park.
Sen. McCaskill plans to meet with
voters and discuss why she’s fit to continue her stint as Senator. She calls
her challenger, Rep. Todd Akin, a “rubber stamp” for special
interests in Washington.
Recent
polls have shown the race tightening, despite Akin’s “legitimate
rape” comment that caused many top Republicans to abandon their support.
Akin does not have any planned stops in the Ozarks at this time.
