"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy."
Take a good look at the picture to the left. If you are a rapist or child molester, she may just be your best friend. She is also a State Senator.
Last week I wrote about a disturbing press release from Sen. Dawn Marie Addiego’s office regarding the United States Senate race in Missouri. It didn’t make sense that she wanted to help re-elect a collectivist liberal from Missouri, much less offer no help in defeating a collectivist liberal Senator from New Jersey.
Of course, the controversy revolves around inarticulate comments made by United States Congressman Todd Akin regarding rape.
Her outrage at one of the most conservative, and solidly pro-life congressmen in the House of Representatives, led me to take a look at Senator Addiego’s record on dealing with rapists, both the adult and child variety.
The following excerpt is from a series published by the New York Times just one week before a crucial vote that Senator Addiego took:
TRENTON — Most of the attacks happened inside the supply closet. Away from workers or security cameras. A dark space that Vanessa Falcone tried desperately to avoid.
Ms. Falcone was an inmate at the Albert M. “Bo” Robinson Assessment and Treatment Center, a 900-bed halfway house here that is at the vanguard of a national movement to privatize correctional facilities.
She was assigned to the cleaning crew, under the supervision of a janitor. One night in 2009, he ordered her into the closet.
“He took his pants off and grabbed my hair and pushed me down,” Ms. Falcone, now 32, said in an interview. “That started a few weeks of basically hell.”
Finally, she told a senior guard that she was being sexually assaulted, according to internal reports written by the guard.
She was immediately transferred to another halfway house. The janitor was dismissed. And that is where it ended.
That horrific first person account is but one of many sickening episodes recounted in the New York Times investigation. Senator Addiego, who now feigns disgust on a conservative stalwart for his inarticulate comments about rape, actually had a chance to help forcibly raped victims
